Reflections from the FIT Show
Last month, the MRA team attended the FIT Show where the new and improved WindowBASE platform was unveiled for the first time. A new report on trends in the Window & Door market in 2025 was also launched during the event. We were very pleased to receive lots of positive feedback and comments on both!
The FIT Show is the UK’s number one exhibition dedicated to showcasing the window, door, hardware and flat glass industry and is held every two years.
MRA Data’s Commercial Director, Scott Dodgson, shared some reflections on the event and the fenestration industry as a whole.
It’s a tough trading environment for all (there are no ‘easy’ sales). That’s the reality – carping won’t change it! That being said, whilst it’s a little early for the ‘green-shoots’ of market recovery to be emerging, maybe some roots are starting to take hold.
The businesses surviving (+ thriving) are strongly focused upon innovation and have a true, authentic, brand voice (as well as sustained brand investment).
Senior leaders (business owners) need to be ‘brave’ – albeit, not foolhardy – in leveraging their experience and expertise to exploit marketplace trends. There’s risk in taking no risk.
Data is powerful. Good data directly informs customer and market understanding. Equally, it’s a fundamental, underpinning, component of effective direct marketing initiatives. We should know, given our market-leading customer leads database: WindowBASE.
The fenestration industry remains a relationships-based one (built around the central tenets of trust). The power of human-connections should never be underestimated.
Just my thoughts, based upon various conversations, observations and discussions across the week of the event. Finally, can I say a massive thank you to the FIT Show, Nickie West (& her Team) for putting on a great event and making us feel so welcome.
