Understand how, when and why
A product usage survey allows you to gain important knowledge about how, when and why your products are used, something which is essential when planning new products, improving existing products and when planning and targeting marketing campaigns. The survey can be used to gather feedback on products that are currently on the market and learn what customers like and dislike, as well as what updates you can make to improve the experience for existing customers, and may even suggest ways to attract new customers or identify new application areas for your products that you were unaware of.
Are your products being used in the way you envisaged? Is the product more or less suitable for particular application areas? Are your customers happy with the features your product has, and are there any features that are never used?
It could be risky to assume that you know how your customers are using your product, or which application areas the product is the most suitable for. A product usage survey can give you the answers you are looking for, while focus groups with installers or contractors, for example, are also an option for finding out more about product usage.
